A Monochrome Workwear Outfit to Wear This Season

One of my fashion mottos is “When in doubt, wear black.” While I love lighter colored neutrals, you can’t beat the simplicity and chicness of an all black outfit, especially if we’re talking about monochromatic office outfits that work at your desk and at the bar after work.

Today’s all black look starts with my new favorite basic t-shirt from GAP. It’s their modern crewneck and is made from a supersoft  Supima® cotton-modal blend that feels perfect against your skin. The short sleeves are a little longer than your typical short sleeve but still shorter than a true ¾ length, which I love and feel adds a lot to this basic shirt.

I paired the black t-shirt with a pair of wide leg trousers by MAYSON the label, because mixing a fitted top with a more relaxed pant is always a good idea! There’s no end to how you can style a black trousers outfit, but I stayed with the all back theme by wearing my favorite Khaite belt with the pants, slipping on all black heeled sandals, carrying my favorite black handbag, and wearing my all black sunglasses.

There are no rules on how to wear a monochromatic outfit, but I think this head-to-toe black look serves as a great example. The silver hardware on the belt and the sparkle from my CZ studs help break it up just a bit while still making a loud minimalist statement. Shop this look in my LTK shop where I’ve linked similar products at different pricepoints!
